Helllooooo Friday! Another weekend is here and this one is a little more low-key than my last. Although, I do have the Mud Hero run in Red Deer this weekend, so I guess I wouldn’t exactly call that low-key.

One thing I never thought I would have a problem with is wanting to work out too much. But that’s how I feel lately. There’s so much exercise I want to do but only so many hours in a day and I know I also need to take some rest. Since I’m in a barre challenge right now, I have to take 3-4 barre classes a week to meet the challenge. Combine that with 4-5 days a week of Live Fit Trainer, my spin classes I have to use up before the end of summer and the training I need to start for the Canmore half-marathon that’s only 5 weeks away and I’m running out of time to exercise! If anyone has tips on fitting it all in, I’m all ears.

I’ve taken a full 3 weeks off of running. I didn’t intend it to be that long, in fact I thought it had only been two weeks until I looked back at my run log, but I really needed the break. However, I am so ready to get back out there. I find myself craving a run. My plan for Canmore Half-Marathon training is to run 3 days a week. I have no plans to PR, I just want to get myself to the start line in half-marathon shape.

Originally I was going to do a 10km run today, but realizing that it’s actually been 3 weeks since my last run, I’m going to cut that back. The last thing I want to do is injure myself by doing too much too fast after my break. So I’ll split up a few shorter runs this weekend and then be on track to start some long weekend runs starting next week.
