TGIF am I right? I’m really looking forward to this weekend. I don’t have too much on the go so I’ll have a chance to catch up on a bit of blogging and my travel writing course that I’ve severely neglected.

My workouts have been kind of all over the place. Although I’m running a half-marathon this weekend I haven’t been following any sort of running plan. I have no time goals for this half, I am just running it for fun and for the nostalgia. As for my strength training, those early morning Live Fit Trainer sessions didn’t happen this week. It’s strange to me that all winter I had no problem getting out of bed at 4:30 a.m. for workouts even though it was pitch black. Now the sun is rising at that time and yet I throw the covers over my head and go back to sleep.

I know I could do strength training after work but the gym gets so busy and I lose my motivation. So for me, it has to be morning.  I hope by next Friday I can report that I did much better with the early mornings and fitting in my strength training. Let’s even call it a weekly goal, shall we. 😉

Monday: 4-mile run

Running

I hit some hills on this run which was good training for the Stampede Road Race this weekend which if I remember correctly from five years ago, has some killer hills.

Tuesday: Spin class

I managed to convince Tom to join me for a spin class at Fit Republic. A few weeks ago I snagged the unbelievable deal of 6 spin classes for $16. I have to use them up by the end of summer which I’m sure won’t be a problem.

It wasn’t my best class. About halfway through, I felt really light headed and I had to phone in most of the second half of the workout. I think I needed to eat something more substantial before the workout. I’ll know for next time…
