Normally when I eat kiwi I just do the regular ol’ “cut & scoop” method. Just cutting the kiwi in half and scooping with a spoon, but these days grilling fruit is my new favourite thing! I grilled up both a pineapple and an avocado (is avocado a fruit?) in my Grilled Pineapple and Avocado Noodles, now I am grilling up kiwifruit, and not just any kiwifruit, but SunGold kiwis!

Have you ever seen these guys? I wasn’t even aware that golden kiwifruit was a thing! These little yellow dudes are where it’s at. The skin of the fruit isn’t fuzzy like the green ones, and the inside is this lovely warm yellow. The flavour of them is milder and sweeter than green kiwis, so clearly, I am in love!

By grilling fruit, not only are you taking them from plain old kiwis to seems-gourmet-immediatly, but the sugars start to caramelize and brown making the kiwis even sweeter. See, there is method to my madness.

Now top these grilled kiwis with a quick, 2 ingredient coconut whipped cream, and oh man is this a treat! So many flavour sensations, the sweet and tart kiwifruit, creamy and rich coconut whipped cream, the warm and cool pairing, it’s a total tropical treat, mouth explosion, must do this everyday kind of dessert.
