5 Chic Winter Sweaters to Splurge On Cloudy with a chance of wine Winter style is all about layers and what better way to bundle up than splurging on some chic and cozy winter sweaters? Sweaters are my favourite things to buy this time of year and right now the options are plentiful. From fuzzy knit pullovers to contrast hues, sweaters have moved beyond pieces that keep us warm to beautiful statement makers. Coupled with skirts, jeans, flares, trousers, or even layered over dresses, sweaters lend a warm hand in the style department, whether you’re going for a dressy or causal vibe. If you have sensitive skin like me, you probably know that not all sweaters will work for you – you may need to stay away from wool. Even if a piece is 10% wool I find it so itchy and irritating as soon as I pull it on, but of course at this time of year stores are packed with wool sweaters. Wool is super warm, so if you can wear it definitely go for it! But I’ve included options with and without wool so everyone is covered this season. From a preppy turtleneck to a fuzzy knit pullover, these 5 sweaters will keep you warm and chic this winter. Layer crop sweaters with a longer silk shirt underneath for a chic, put together look. This Rag & Bone knit pullover has extra long sleeves with contrast cuffs and looks incredibly cozy, while also giving off a sophisticated vibe. Paired with flared or skinny jeans, a crop sweater/silk shirt combo can take you anywhere from the office to a bar for drinks with friends. This sweater immediately caught my eye due to the contrast neck. It’s sharp and minimalist with a preppy appeal. Pair it with a burgundy suede skirt and booties or camel-coloured trousers with flats. You’ll be walking around the city turning heads everywhere you go. I absolutely adore how this sweater has a V shape in the front and the back, while the back also has the crossed strap detail. The light grey hue has a warm allure and the knit couples perfectly with skinny black jeans for a comfortable ensemble. With the loose turtleneck, thick knit ribbing and hunter green shade, this sweater is everything I look for in a winter topper. It looks so cozy and can be dressed down with jeans or up with a sequined skirt or dress underneath for a seasonal soirée. Fuzzy sweaters have made their revival and I’ve seen them popping up everywhere lately. This Sam Edelman fuzzy knit is a cold weather staple that will add a hint of glam to any getup. I love wearing my fuzzy sweater with my “mom jeans” – totally 70’s and completely awesome. If you love these winter sweaters as much as we do, please share them on Pinterest!
