5 Truths About Blogging Pretty Little Grub Happy hump day! Last week dragged by for me and this week is flying by. Yesterday, I announced my second blogiversary. And if you haven’t already entered my giveaway for a $50 Amazon gift card, do it now! Reflecting on my two years of blogging, I realized how much my life has changed because of blogging and how much my world revolves around my blog. I’m sure many fellow bloggers will be nodding their head at this list and those who are considering starting a blog, make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into! 1. Blogging is a full-time job What started out as just a hobby quickly becomes something that you devote your life to. On an average week, I spend just as much time if not more on my blog than my actual job, which I get paid for! 2. Taking selfies will become a necessity Sometimes you see people taking a hundred selfies and think, really? Are you that narcissistic? Well, they might just be a blogger. The thing about blogging is people want to see you so they connect with you. But you don’t always have someone to take your photo which means mirrors and selfies become your best friend. Heck, you might even find yourself the proud owner of a selfie stick! 3. You will become “that” person Getting the perfect photo for your blog or Instagram account is important. So you may find yourself using the flashlight of your phone in a dark restaurant to get the perfect shot, never minding the people beside you trying to have a romantic dinner. You may find yourself asking your partner to come to the grocery store to do a “photo shoot” of you. You may find yourself running by a park bench 20 times trying to capture the perfect running photo on your self-timer. And yes, these are all true stories. 4. You will never eat food without taking a photo of it again Think taking photos of your food is dumb? Well, become a blogger and I promise it becomes a part of your life. The moment you take a bite of your food and realize you didn’t first photograph it is devastating. 5. You will become addicted to social media Social media is a black hole you will inevitably get sucked into. Every spare moment you have will be spent on social media. Standing in line at a store? Check Instagram. Commercial on TV? Send out a tweet. Can you relate to these truths? What in your life has changed from blogging?
