One of the top things on our ‘ To-Do’ list for Back to School this year was to arrange an eye exam* for Loic. This is an easy thing to do with Pearle Vision as they conveniently offer online booking and have locations across Canada. Trying to keep things efficient, we brought the whole family along to the appointment as both Rob and I were needing new frames. Pearle Vision direct bills, so this was an obvious choice as I like to avoid extra paperwork at all costs.

Arriving at Peale Vision, I immediately questioned my effort to efficiently organize this appointment. I worried I had overlooked the reality that the kids could be disruptive and the whole appointment would be a lot for everyone involved. Before panic even had a chance to settle in, we were greeted by an eye care expert. She invited the kids to do some drawings and set them up with everything they needed (can every store please do this?).

The pictures speak for themselves, but Loic’s first exam simply could not have been more positive. In fact, he has already asked when he can have another! In new situations, Loic generally takes some time to warm up. I anticipated he would initially be a bit reluctant and have a lot of questions for the eye doctor, and he did. The OD was wonderful. She had him instantly laughing, answered each question with thoroughness and provided me with an overview of the full exam. By the end of the appointment, we felt like we had known the eye doctor for years. We established her connection to our hometown, she knew all about our dog and we learned she was getting one herself that weekend. These moments matter, especially with healthcare. Feeling comfortable and understood is everything.

Loic got a great bill of eye health and did not require glasses. After his appointment, Rob and I enjoyed choosing our new frames from Pearl Vision’s great assortment of top brands. I selected Tory Burch and Ray Ban. Rob’s new specs are Armani for his computer glasses and Ray Ban for sunglasses.

Right now Pearle Vision is offering 40% off lenses and free lenses for Kids!
